Whew... man it's been a long two weeks.. tomorrow is my last day of work before they hand me the pink slip. It's so depressing. The store is pretty much completely empty now, but I have a nice stockpile of supplies that should last me a while. They're giving the store employees a good discount as a reward for staying until the bitter end, so I'm getting myself a Mabef H-frame easel along with a bunch of acrylics, some new brushes, and drawing supplies. Gotta look at things in the right light, I suppose.

Also, I made some contacts with a few people who I might be able to get side jobs with or learn to teach art. I met a wildlife artist who really liked my pieces and was impressed with my outlook on teaching art. I would really like to have my own studio, and I have three other friends who want in on it with me. Plus, the store manager is looking for a new art store to manage and met with someone today about it. She thinks there's a good chance a new art store will be opening in the area and she could be working for them within a week or two. And if her store needs a crew she's got the best damn art store crew standing up right behind her! And worst case scenario... I go through an unemployment agency that allows me to take a class or two for a year that will help my resume and skills at managing a business and finances. If I go that route, I'll be able to stay at home and spend more time with Lindsay and work on my art for a living. It all sounds good to me!

So, I'm feeling much better about the future right now. Lots of choices, all of them good! Now I just gotta make 'em happen

Aaaand I can't believe I haven't mentioned it a million times a day but I can't wait until ~BurkeWorld moves in!! It's getting close now! Seems like despite the negative shit going on at work, there are a ton of good things happening in its place. 2 more weeks, Burkey!!
