this is an old one... from all the way back in 2003, but there's something about it that i love... it's probably because i used to do lots of quick sketches with 005 microns, and they had a rawness to them that is hard to recreate in a finished piece.

i love drawing Aster from behind, or in "unconventional character poses". and, i decided that even though it's dated and not a final piece, i wanted to include it in my regular gallery instead of scraps.

Agree, the raw feeling of a sketch is very different from that of a finished piece. I often find myself liking more the sketches when it comes to my own work. LoL. Wonderful piece, by the way, purdy indeed.

This makes me want to do another series of my quick digital ink sketches. The negative space is a bit overwhelming, but it is a sketch, after all. =P Regardless, it's an emotionally evocative sketch (and quite nice).

i think the original is done in a 5x7 sketchbook. my sketches are usually quite small, since i do a lot of work with the smallest point size pens.

i say go for it!
